The message of The Boys’ Club is that men can help men to survive divorce if they share their experiences, compare them with their own, respond with suggestions, and then apply what they have learned. Included in that concept is the idea that women too can learn from men’s experiences, and they should take advantage of the opportunity to do so.
The guidance offered in “The Boys’ Club” is based on what we learned during the almost four-year lifetime of the Club, and the more-than-forty members during that time. The Boys’ Club is intended to both pay tribute and offer guidance. The tribute is to a group of men who found themselves divorced (or about to be) with little idea of what to do about the situation, and who then managed to discover ways to help themselves, each other, their families and children, and even their new lady friends as well as their own families to survive. And in paying that tribute, the book also describes the lessons we learned (many of them accidentally) during that process of survival. The book also tells how family, friends and new companions helped to make it happen.
The Boys’ Club is meant to help both men and women who are trying to weather the storm of hurts, demands and losses that descend on and envelop those who find themselves in a disintegrating relationship. It is a statement that we can survive, and a roadmap for how to do it.

The Boys' Club eBook Adrian Salee Marilyn Willison

I read a lot of self help books. I find that most of them are targeted toward women. There are not many directed toward men so when I saw the title
"The Boy's Club" I thought I might, as a woman, learn something I didn't already know about men. Well I did!
This is a wonderful story about how two men speaking to each other about their divorces turned into a large group as one man after the other told someone else about the "Club." Without the help of counselor a psychiatrist or a psychologist these men learned so much from each other that most of them did not need the help of a professional. What I liked best about book is the wrap-up at the end of each chapter that explains what a man or a woman should have learned from its contents. I would certainly recommend this book for any person who is divorced or is considering divorce. It is a easy reading text book wrapped in a memoir

Wonderful book describing the pain and recovery for men going through the process of divorce. Very helpful and encouraging.
Excellent book exposing the fact that men also hurt, have anguish, and undergo major emotional upheavals when faced with divorce. I am a product of divorce as my parents parted when I was 12 years old. After reading Adrian's book, I have a newfound understanding of certain important dynamics, especially those relating to my father. Thank you Adrian for helping me process this complex, ignored issue!
